We are looking for a ECVM Project Manager – PVC Circularity to support the Plastics Europe’s European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers (ECVM) Group in advancing its knowledge and expertise on PVC circularity. This role involves amongst other assisting in the development of data insights for PVC.
The ideal candidate will have proven project management skills and knowledge of or experience in waste management, recycling, or sustainability-related sectors. A basic understanding of the PVC value chain would be highly desirable.

Who we are
Plastics Europe has under its umbrella dedicated plastic product groups one of them being the European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers (ECVM).
ECVM represents six leading European producers of PVC. These businesses operate around 40 different plants spread over 23 sites and employ approximately 7,000 people (www.pvc.org). PVC is mostly used in building and construction products, in sport equipment and medical material.
ECVM is also the founding member of VinylPlus®, the voluntary commitment to sustainable development by the European PVC industry (www.vinylplus.eu). Founded in 2000, the commitment has been recently updated with a programme of goals and targets to be achieved by 2030. The commitment aims at strengthening the sustainability of PVC products and of the entire industry through a holistic approach including the sustainable use of chemical substances, minimisation of the value chain environmental footprint, safe and quality PVC recycling, building global coalitions and partnering for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
About
As ECVM Project Manager – PVC Circularity, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting circularity projects
- Oversee and support projects related to PVC circularity, ensuring alignment with ECVM’s priorities and commitment to sustainability through VinylPlus. This includes managing initiatives focused on recycling, sustainability metrics, and PVC reuse strategies to support industry progress.
- Contribute to technical working groups, strategic planning, and foresight approaches on PVC circularity.
- Monitoring the PVC industry progress towards Plastics Europe 2050 Roadmap and ECVM sustainability commitments
- Contribute to developing indicators to track progress, assess value chain performance, and report on industry advancements.
- Provide members with data-driven insights to inform their sustainability strategies and PVC recycling targets.
- Produce progress reports to communicate PVC industry advancements.
- Developing & managing data insights for PVC
- Work with the ECVM Director to develop a strategy for data collection, analysis, and modelling, covering key industry metrics such as production data, waste volumes, and recycling rates.
- Ensure data is structured and analysed to support decision-making on priority technical projects and strategic issues. Identify trends and actionable insights to inform industry strategies
- Make data readily available for analysis by senior colleagues, the ECVM Director, and members to guide decisions and strategic initiatives
- Manage the production of reports on PVC circularity and market trends.
- Other
- Monitor, analyse, and interpret technical and scientific developments in PVC circularity.
- Keep abreast of developments within the PVC industry, including scientific literature on recycling and circularity.
- Contribute to engagement strategies with internal and external technical stakeholders.
- Participate in conferences and workshops to gather insights and build strong networks within the industry.
Requirements
- University or Higher Education degree (e.g. Bsc) in chemical engineering, Environmental Science, Economics, Data Analytics, Project Management, or a related field. Other technical background possible with a proven track record working in the wider plastics industry sector
- At least 4 years’ experience of relevant work experience
- Proven track record in project management, preferably in the waste management, recycling, or sustainability sector.
- Experience in sustainability, industrial research, consultancy, or regulatory affairs within plastics industry (from production, compounding, PVC usage or recycling) would be an asset.
- Experience with membership-based industry association would be preferred.
- Familiarity with EU Institutions and understanding of their decision-making processes.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English - additional EU languages would be beneficial.
- Demonstrate analytical skills and capacity to translate complex technical and scientific concepts into structured and convincing outputs.
- Team player mindset with great organisational skills.
- Demonstrated environmental awareness and commitment to sustainability.
- Proactive, accountable, and able to take full ownership of assigned priority areas.
- Capacity to adjust language and content complexity for diverse audiences.
